Kids.on.a.Mission (Kids & Youth)
L.A Gibson
Kids.On.A.Mission (KOAM) is the name of our children’s ministry here at Without Walls Vineyard. It is a name that speaks of our belief that children are not the church of the future- they are the church of today! We believe we can equip our children as young as birth, to know and receive the love of God. This is God’s heart as it is recorded in Matthew 19:13-15 Jesus wanted children to come to him.
“Then the little children were brought to Jesus for Him to place His hands on them and pray for them; and the disciples re-buked those who brought them. But Jesus said, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not hinder them! For the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these”. And after He had placed His hands on them, He went on from there.”
He loves us at every stage in life. Here at WOW Vineyard we have a growing number of kids. Our classrooms are booming with newborns to high school students. Because we currently have limited space and volunteers we currently run a Nursery for newborns to preschool age children, a 1st, 2nd, 3rd grade class, and a 4th and 5h grade class. Every week of the month a different team of teachers come on Sunday to teach these young ones with game, craft, storied, and a snack. We have made it easy for volunteers to step in and have everything in the curriculum available in the classrooms so one can follow as closely or loosely to the lesson of the week. It is a good way for each member of the body to exercise their gifts of teaching, crafting, loving, and sharing with the children. It is fun for all and we try to make practical lessons easy to understand and a craft that will help them remember the lesson of the day. A big thank you to all our volunteers in these classes! They build special relationships with our children and help them to know Jesus’ love.
Our youth, middle school through high school age, currently meet every 2nd and 4th Sunday of the month in our “back” room. Our youth come from all area schools and have a variety of interests and personalities. Some are well versed in the word of God and others are just getting familiar to it for the first time. At WOW, we are building a community of youth who can come to Believe, Belong, and know that they are Beloved Children of God. We offer opportunities for the children to talk about their beliefs and learn about the bible, a place where they can be themselves and know they belong to our body and the Body of Christ. Ultimately we provide opportunities for them to receive, learn, know the love of Christ so they can go out in the world and glorify Him. We meet after worship on these Sunday mornings and often play games, read the bible, pray for one another, and have discussions on various topics such as the Book of Act, Joseph and his journey of faith, and how to share our faith in everyday simple ways.
I am pleased to have Josh Reid joining me with these youth regularly and I know that our young men are excited to have a Godly man to disciple them and show them what it means to be a Man of God. Throughout the year we have other events such as small groups in the summer, games nights, and of course our first annual “ONE SON WON” youth retreat.
We are growing in this area of ministry and as we meet the challenges of space, time, and volunteers, please join me in praying for wisdom and provision. We want to feed the fire for Jesus that is burning in the hearts of these young people. Our youth retreat showed us that we have youth who are hungry for the truth and for a cause and reason to live and fight for. Many of them have found their hope in God and want to grow more to understand Him and His ways. Be on the look out for the growing changes and opportunities for our youth to gather. Also for the opportunity that more adults help disciple and meet with the youth.

Boy Scouts Troop 316
We organize outings usually associated with a specific scouting theme; whether it’s completing a certain merit badge or concentrating on getting the younger guys through their next rank. Whatever we do, we always make it fun. Once in awhile, that’s all we’ll do; just kick back and have a fun. Our troop is lead by the boys. And of course, with Scouting, the possibilities are endless. Want to know more about Boy Scouts
