Where are we going?
We have a clear, challenging picture of the future for our church as we believe that it can be, and must be. This picture gives clarity to our values. It tells us where we do what we do. It should ignite everyone with passion. If it’s clear, everyone will be excited about it. It connects with the people and compels us to action. We will communicate it regularly and verbally at meetings and gatherings.
Our name Without Walls describes the life we are to live. We are a group of people joining together with the desire to form a community of hope. To be real, admitting our weakness and our true selves. Not trying to earn our way with anyone, but be a people where Jesus’ forgiveness and grace brings healing and hope.
We are surrendering to the challenge to follow Jesus’ way of peace, simplicity, prayer and radical hospitality. We live to embody Jesus’ presence in Holland’s north-side; a neighborhood of immigrants and single parents, artists and children at risk, homeless people, students and professionals. We are daring to spark a revolution of love to our community by bringing healing, peace and justice wherever we go by the power of the Holy Spirit. We are missional in that we are part of God’s mission for Holland. We don’t wait for people to come to us; we are committed to going to the people wherever they are.”
